GLAXOSMITHKLINE - PP RANGE
17th Jun 2022GlaxoSmithKline reduced pump operation costs by 32% annually and improved its ecological impact by switching to the PP range of Crest Pumps.
GlaxoSmithKline is a global leader in pharmaceutical production and biological treatment and research.
GlaxoSmithKline were building a new facility inside its research and development complex in Ware, Herts. This new R&D facility would be used for drug/chemical researching and involved some combustible materials. As a result, GlaxoSmithKline submitted an enquiry to Crest Pumps for a purpose built pump which was ATEX Zone 2 certified, as well as ISO9001 & ISO14001. The pump would be transferring chemicals from safe area tanks to the laboratory workstation.
Crest Pumps supplied our highly efficient, UK built, mechanical seal PP32 range. The PP range is designed to maintain a high efficiency throughout long periods of operation.
The PP range was built to ATEX Zone 2 certification in thermoplastic polypropylene for the industry standard in corrosion resistance.
GlaxoSmithKline also took advantage of our ‘no obsolete parts’ policy which ensures, however long the pump lasts, we will be able to supply spares and perform repairs on the pump, keeping downtime to a minimum and again reducing costs.
The PP range was subjected to a cost analysis compared to our nearest competitor pump type, as a result GSK were able to save 32% annually on operating costs, as well as improve their ecological profile, all due to the energy efficiency nature of the Crest Pumps range.
